A Very Short Story for the Week of BlogHer Business ‘07, NYC

Today I helped a niece start her first blog for her new online business. Some synchronicity in that BlogHer Business ‘07 is on in NYC this week: I’m hoping to interview a friend or three who will have been at the event, for the Business Blogging Show.

Business Blogging Platforms - 2

Further thoughts on the subject of blogging platforms, linked to the series on Business and Blogging. Links also to some interesting posts on the Otter Group site, about Sharepoint vs other ways of arranging the technology for a networked community.

Twitter Re-visited

Further reflections on Twitter and link to Jeremiah Owyang’s post, How to Get Started On Twitter: a Communication Tool. After reading what Jeremiah has to say, I am re-activating, in a limited way, my experiment with Twitter. If you are on Twitter and want to share the trivia news about what we are doing right now, my handle there is beachblogger.

Twitter - Yes or No?

Some bloggers indicate that Twitter is the best thing since whatever, others can’t see the point. Some observations and links, including Dave’s sceptical view, Tris’s take that Twitter is the “new Flickr”, Robyn’s use of the Twitter widget and Bren with some guidelines. In the podcast linked below I refer to Bren’s “seven” habits etc, instead of the “several” actually in the title of his post - thanks to Tris’s post as linked above, for the link to Bren.

Blogging Platforms for Business - 1

Over on Business and Blogging I’m posting a series on Blogging Platforms. That’s a bit formal and detailed. This is where I’m talking about the issues more discursively and perhaps more reflectively. A companion piece but not requiring anyone to read the other blog to understand.
